Once you receive the survey results with the reflection questions, please download and use this template to prepare the conversation with your mentor. Select the core competencies that you wish to focus on. It might take several meetings before you and the mentor reach consensus. The mentor should also use this form to prepare the conversation with the inventor-entrepreneur.

Action Plan

Once you have reached general consensus on the core competencies that the inventor-entrepreneur will work on, please use this template to develop an action plan with your mentor. Create up to 3 talent development goals that address the most critical weaknesses identified during the self-assessment. These can be either goals that build your own skills or that leverage existing and new team members. You are free to add more goals but its key that the action plan be realistic given and doable within a set time period.

Please refer to the Resources section to assess and decide on tools and training that you can use to carry out the action plan.

Goals should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-focused, Time-bound
